Founded in 2024, Columbus Cottage is a family-owned business born from our passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and the simple joys of life. What started as a way to create cozy, handmade hats for our loved ones quickly grew into a small business as we saw how much others appreciated the warmth and care that went into each piece.

As a family, we’ve always been drawn to doing things by hand—whether it's hand-knitting, baking our own bread, or growing our own vegetables in the summer. We believe in slowing down, embracing the creative process, and taking pride in making things ourselves. Why Wool?

We use a blend of 20% wool and 80% acrylic yarn, which we’ve found to be the perfect combination for our beanies. This blend offers all the warmth and softness of wool, while the acrylic helps to keep the fabric durable and easy to care for.

The result is a fabric that is incredibly soft and warm—without being itchy or scratchy. Our beanies are gentle on your skin, providing you with that cozy, comfortable feeling throughout the day, whether you’re out for a brisk walk or relaxing indoors.
